May 2024 Advocacy Activities
May 9, 2024
NHHF and NHMA were highlighted as I spoke at several organizations' events in Washington, DC, this month:
National Consumers League Vaccine Confidence Webinar Roundtable - Discussed lessons learned with our NHMA Vaccinate For All and NHHF Rockefeller Mini-Grant Program on how to educate Latino families about the importance of vaccines, especially about COVID-19, RSV, and Influenza.
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Health Summit - Discussed Latino health challenges and policy recommendations to elevate health equity for Latino families - especially environmental health policy, SDOH, and Medical Education institutions' satellite programs needed in underserved areas
Two NHHF Webinars—I am moderating and looking forward to educating our growing audiences about the Latino physician Principal Investigator's lessons learned about clinical trials with pediatric patients and the importance of future changes due to the SCOTUS Decision to delete race/ethnicity from higher education admissions.
I also attended the AMGEN Policy Summit and the Health Equity and Clinical Trial Conference to learn about current issues of interest to NHHF and NHMA.
